Reactor mod for increased output?
I've been playing ftl for a while now and one problem I've come across is the reactor output. I have powerful weapons, but not enought power for them and I've maxed out my reactor. Is there any mods out there that could perhaps double the reactor limit? Thanks. :D:

Backup Battery and Zoltan crew

You're not supposed to be able to power everything at once. You don't need your engines maxed out if the enemy has only lasers and beams which can't get through your shields, and you don't need shield if they have missiles and bombs.

-3 zoltans can steal the 3 power units from cloak/mc/hacking when they're on cooldown if you run them through the appropriate room all at once.
-depower O2 will give you at least one power, just remember to turn it back on.
-depower med/clonebay when not needed
-depower shields by two powerbars if they're down two charging bubbles (micromanagey, but will give that extra power to engines)

this is the tactics part at play, micromanage your power.

every fight is a choice: do i want an extra shield bubble, is 10% extra dodge preferrable or is activating my 4th weapon a better option...
it all depends on the enemy: lots of lazers? shields up, missle-based, go for engines, enemy has thick shields? time for my extra weapon.

indeed, zoltan crew and the backup battery make this easier, especially once you run into an ion storm...

Learn to manage your power like a real player instead of looking for cheats like a loser. Buy a battery and get some Zoltans. You're not supposed to be able to run everything to max at once. You have to actually make choices.

Alright, thanks anyway. It's just because my crew was entirely Zoltan, I had the backup battery maxed out and my weapons- and shields- were very power hungry (swag hull breaching laser, upgraded burst laser III, custom plasma thrower II, you get the gist) and I was going to take on the flagship for the 15th time. Plus the way that you max out your generator and can't buy a new one (or something along those lines) kinda sucks. But I don't think it's as big a deal now, because I got past the first part and dies (which is a new record for me). Well, I'm sure I can learn and code it myself. It shouldn't be too hard. Just figure out how to increase the output and make an equation for the cost of upgrading. :P

Been 6 years but since I stumbled upon this, I figured I'd drop this link here for anyone else that does the same in the future and wants an actual mod, not just people saying "Oh you don't need that. You just need to get gud at the game." or "Mods r stoopid" It should give all ships 56 reactor points.

I use Slipstream Mod Manager to install it and my other FTL mods.

Didn't expect to see this thread come up again and quite frankly I'd forgotten about it, but my 14 year old self would be happy to see that there are options now for people like them who just wanna play the game without feeling like they suck lmao
necroing this ♥♥♥♥ but I just wanted to say as someone who plays with mods like arsenal + and battleship arsenal. One of the ships included is a zoltan battleship which has an augment which makes the battery backup have no cooldown.

A full zoltan crew and no cooldown maxed out BB and I still can't power everything I want to.

It's not about balance. If I can last long enough in a infinite run and get op ♥♥♥♥. I should be able to use all the op ♥♥♥♥ at my disposal and not have to sacrifice other ♥♥♥♥ or look at it wistfully.

Well there's always stuff like Vampire Survivors for the "get as OP as possible" crowd
