Bug Report
I just reinstalled this game recently and the menu works fine, I select a new game, pick my craft and difficulty, hit play, and it's stuck ont eh next screen.. It says to press space to continue, but it doesn't seem to want to acknowledge the space bar..

It's not hung up, the audio is fine and the process isn't "not responding" but it won't go beyond that point.

I've tried deleting local content and re-installing, and verifying the cache files. Not sure what went wrong or what I should try next :/

just tried to select tutorial and it's the same thing, the first screen that comes up and asks for me to press space to resume, doesn't seem to want to respond to space bar presses..

It's been a long time since i've played this game.. I think I got my new keyboard between then and now. It's a Logitech G19s.. maybe it's something to do with that?

The middle mouse button(wheel) has the same function as the spacebar in FTL, maybe try pressing that?

Actually I just ran the Tutorial and the first screen that comes up doesn't explicitly ask you to press spacebar. The game is paused, yes(which is why it has the "PAUSED Press SPACE to resume" below the box", it will always pause when an 'event box' is displayed. Spacebar is the pause button, but it won't unpause until you have confirmed the 'text box' by clicking on '1. Continue...', which is your only option at this point.

alright... i'm a friggin idiot.. I saw the paused text UNDER the dialog box and thought that was what I needed to proceed..

After clicking "Continue" it works fine... Part of me wants to apologize for wasting everyone's time (or at least yours rroberttson1) but part of me also thinks maybe it could be worth keeping idiots like me in mind the next time there's a revision made.. : shrug :

It takes reports like these to spot things that might cause confusion. This would never have occured to me as a possible issue of contention, and it's probably the same for most players, but it's an idea. Sometimes you get things that cause the average player confusion and that's a good indicator that something should be changed, ideally, even if it doesn't make sense to the players that it didn't confuse, or that were at first confused but then got past it.

I'd like to see SFX added for systems coming off cooldown or out of ion lockdowns personally, among other things.

I don't think you're an idiot for thinking you should have pressed spacebar, as you say that is what is written on the screen. Anyone that does think you are is an idiot.

Wait, so if he thinks he's an idiot, and and anyone who thinks he's an idiot is an idiot (including himself as stated)... Is this some sort of infinate idiocity loop? My brain hurts.
