Favorite Ship?

Maybe its just me, but I adore the Zoltan A ship. Zoltan shields let you kill most enemies in early and sometimes mid game without taking any hull damage. And the Halberd Beam is just amazing, it easily kills anything with 1 shield, and if you find an early game enemy with 2 shields just use the Leto to take out one of them. But this ship really shines when you get an extra laser and full powered hacking. Even on a level 4 shields enemy, just hack the shields, hit 4 rooms for 8 damage with Halberd beam, then wail on weapons with lasers. And this pared with Zoltan Shields is just foolproof

Lanius B and Stealth B are some of my favorites, through I couldn't really list em out. 30 ships, I love most so dearly.

I've unlocked everything except the Crystal Cruiser and 3 C layouts.

I think you missed what I said. I've been trying to get as far as I can with only the single crewman the entire run. It's just been fun to play it that way. My favorite ship, with no shenanigans, is the Mantis B.

I see, I now get that there's a difference between most fun ship and ship most likely to win the game with :D

Well i have 2, my normal favorite and my trolly favorite.
My normal favorite is probaly the Crystal A, as i find it to very easily destroy enemies early on with its sheild pierce weapons, and use them in addition with some Burst lasers agains the Final Boss.
My trolly favorite is the Stealth Crusier C, for a single reason, its name: "Simo-H", which im GUESSING stands for Simo Hauya (forgot his last name, spelled something like that), A finnish Marksman who has 705 confirmed kills, all russian. He was a marksman during the 1902 (i think) war that was Finland versus Russia. Once Russia discovered that one man, Simo, had then about 200 kills, sent a counter marksman, then a squad of counter marksmen, then a battalion. They ALL died. So the russians decided to artillery strike the Area... they missed because they couldn't find him. He was wearing a white jacket and was putting snow in his mouth so that his breath didnt condensate in the Russian-Finnish winter (thus his nickname "white death") He was hit by stray bullet and went into a coma, thankfuly he was brought to a medical camp. He, Ironicaly, awoke the day Russia and Finland signed a peace treaty. In the end, his 705 kills (plus about 40 unconfirmed) were divided about 500 with a Mossin Nagat, and about 200 with a SMG. So that is my favorites. A bit of a back story with the SC C, but i hoped you enjoyed it and can brag to your friends about this as well.

I already know of that guy from the BL2 rifle, but didn't know it was Stealth C probbally as well.

My favorite is the Stealth A, and maybe the Engi C. Itss really fun just to cripple an enemy ship without taking any hits

I really love the Kestrel type B. Because of the 4 lasers it really helps you early on and then you can switch out easily later on down the line.

I just unlocked the Fed Cruiser, and I'm excited about the Artillery Beam...Mantis and Slug are the only original ships I still need to unlock. I got Slug on the iPad already, so the empty slot mocks me everytime I look at the list!

Zoltan A is my favorite too. It is much better in AE. The Zoltan shield is more powerful now because it blocks mind control and hacking, plus you can keep it longer by using hacking to decharge enemy weapons. Flak being common makes the Halberd a devastating endgame weapon. Killing the crew doesn't give as much bonus scrap, so an all out gunship Zoltan A is a nice choice for Hard.

The Shrike is my second favorite. The Lanius are deadly boarders, whether you are up against a crew or an automated ship. But you also have an amazing starting gun that goes with everything. Probably the most consistent winning ship on Hard since it comes with most systems installed, full boarding team, and great weapon.

The Zoltan A weaknesses are combined attack and defense drones (you need to get hacking through) and the events where you fight a ship while boarders bypass your Zoltan shield. The Shrike's weakness is hacking; they can't use it if they want cloaking, and they can't block it.
