Not gonna happen by a long shot.
As much as I wanted it to happen...
These type of indie game will never, ever make it to android. See XCOM for example.

I'm suprised that it isn't available for Android.

Android account for over 50% of smartphone sales in the US, I have a feeling it's closer to 80% worldwide, but haven't found that graph yet.

What about tablets though? As far as I know, the devs won't be porting FTL to smartphones and I think Apple still has the largest section of the tablet market under its control, though I could be wrong.

I read where Subset is planning on releasing FTL on Android and Surface but there is nothing set in stone.

Since the official site is running on a Raspberry Pi, I'll repost what was there:

"We’re also very excited to announce that FTL is coming to the iPad! We’ve redesigned the FTL interface to be optimal for touch devices. It plays beautifully on both the full size iPads (2nd generation or later) and the iPad minis. And of course it will include all of the new additions of the FTL: Advanced Edition expansion.

"But many of you might be asking 'What about Android (or Surface, etc.)!?' For now, the answer is that we hope to get it on all tablet devices but do not know for sure... Expanding tablet support will be our next highest priority, but we don’t want to make any promises (or rejections) until we’re 100% sure of the outcome."

It'll happen, just takes time.

As long as it doesn't contain microtransactions, bring it on!

Hah. An ability to purchase weapons anywhere by using real-life currency... I better keep my mouth shut, just in case there's a remote chance the developers have become greedy. :)

... you realize they just released a full dlc for free right?

If that was meant to me, yes. It resurrected FTL and I started to play it again. The fact that the expansion is completely free with no strings attached is a pretty solid proof that the developers don't do games just to maximize their profit. My comment was more or less a complete joke, because adding microtransactions to tablet/smartphone ports is a common trend nowadays.

FTL for 7" Android Tablets would be an instant buy for me even for 15$.
I would also love if they would sell this via the Humble Store.
