Should I buy FTL on iPad now or on PC later?

I've known about this game for a good year and a half now, and I've played it at school with my friend (he downloaded it on the computers and we played it during class). Anyways, I would like to know whether I should get FTL now for iPad (I have plenty of money from a gift card on the App Store), or should I get it on PC later this summer. (I don't have any money left on my debt card, so I'd have to wait and hope FTL goes on sale this summer.)
So, should I get FTL now on iPad, or later on PC?

I have both, PC version is much better. Keyboard manipulation is much more satisfying than touchscreen with this game.

Is the iPad version good and ported well enough to justify it's $10 price tag?

i rather go with the pc version. But having the portable ftl is good too.

PC for everything

however the kind of game FTL is, and the music it has i would definatly get it on an iPad and play it on a bus/flight or something

It's the same game on iPad minus the differences in the UI. So you won't have a different experience. I'd say it's worth getting on both just because it's a fantastic game for portable and also a great PC game.

well i have pc and one of my friends has it on i-pad and honestly pc is a lot better. the controlls for ftl on a handheld are surprisingly un-satisfying and can be a pain in the ass. while the pc version can still give you joy with mods if you are done with the main game.

It's possible to use mods on the iPad version, but it's not to the "just apply them" level the desktop version is yet http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=23917

Thanks, that would be great! I never bought it on iPad because I was holding out for the PC version. Also, thanks to everyone's comments, they really helped a lot!
