Slug B near impossible to win as?
Been trying to reach sector 8 with the slug B, and i notice that of all the ships i've ever played (this includes the stealth B) this ship dwarfs all of them in difficulty and frustration. Are there any strategies for like... actually winning as it? because i really wanna unlock Slug C

One of the thing that are valuable is learning advanced boarding tactics, like safety dance, enemy room priorities mostly. You'll find those guides on youtube. Slug B is easily one of the hardest ship in the game so it's not like it's just you.
Typically, you'll want to try to get medbay or clonebay soon but with proper boarding, you might delay this until having Shields-4.
The ship starts with a powerful missile that should be enough to destroy most of early enemies offensive capabilities, but you do need to know which enemy warrants them because of the competition with the healing bomb.

But primarily, learn the advanced boarding tactics.

You should definitely learn the safety dance, it's a life saver for your boarders!

Then you should know when to use your weapons. Since you only use missiles, you don't want to waste them. For example, I never fire a Heal Bomb on the enemy ship: risk is too high that I miss, which means I lost a missile AND my crew is not healed AND I will have to wait another 18 seconds to heal them, which is bad. I prefer to board, do damage to the enemy crew, then come back to my ship when my crew have low health (teleporter-1 is enough for this if you know the safety dance), heal them with the Heal Bomb, then go back to their ship and finish them off.
Sometimes I don't even bother to heal my crew if one of them is in good shape, and send this one with my pilot, so that at the end of the fight, I only have to use one Heal Bomb for all of my crew at once.

I have to admit that, with this strategy, you will possibly take a rather high amount of damage. So now you have to figure out where to shoot your Artemis. If the enemy doesn't have a medbay/clonebay, go for weapons but only if their weapons are threatening. If they have medbay/clonebay, you want to shoot at this room, but I would advise not to shoot too early, it's better to shoot at it when your boarders are on their ship so that they have less evasion, if you manage to lure the pilot out of piloting.

With this strategy, it is possible to shoot only 1 Artemis at the enemy (2 if you miss, possibly 3 if you are out of luck and miss the second...), and 1 Heal Bomb. But you have to be ok with taking some damage. (I usually don't have more than 10-12 hull, so I am used to be on the razor's edge...)

TLDR: learn the safety dance, know when to heal your crew, don't use too much missiles.

What difficulty are you playing?

I just won with this ship on easy. But it's really difficult to win with it on normal and I've never won with it on hard.

Try to get either rock or mantis crewmembers for boarding. Try using your missiles only on weapon systems if neccesary and on scouts. Get medbay ASAP. I wouldn't suggest clonebay if you don't have mantis crewmembers because loss of fighting exp hurts non-mantis crew.
You can't really be choosy with this ship. I'd say get whichever shows up first. You need something other than that weaksauce Heal Bomb.
