Flagship Inferno
There is a picture that shows up in Community Content showing the whole Flagship on fire, though it looks a bit doctored. I have been wanting to do it legitimately.

I know the square that the crew member is in is not on fire, so I may have to try again in the future to get it completely. I could have done it if I planned better, but it didn't occur to me to try until I had taken out the other artillery and had already fired one shot too many from my lasers.

I've done this. It's a lot easier to do with two Fire Beams. I'm not sure if it's doctored, but I have to admit I'm skeptical of getting this result with just Fire Bombs.

I kinda thought fire beams would be harder, because they require keeping shields down. If you use weapons to clear the way for the fire beams, you risk doing hull damage.

Try doing it with Fire Bombs (and a ton of missiles) when you get the chance.

this is doable with just a fire beam and a hacking bay. throw in another weapon to actually get the win since fire doesn't do a lot of hull damage. a flak to keep shields down works great

Fire bombs cause maybe 1 or 2 fires. Any enemy crew whatsoever can put those out with no problem and on top of that, the Flagship has a level 3 Medbay.

You think a tiny little fire every 18 million years is going to set the whole Flagship on fire on a reliable basis?

They can't put out fires when they are dead.

Shields was hacked, so I used Mind Control to get a fight going on in Shields. And then I set them all on fire. So two are dead already with one trying to flee while the room burns.

And others comes to try to put out the fire, and there's a cycle of letting them in and out. Sometimes they break through the hacked doors, fight fire for a while, then the broken door shuts before they decide to run out to get healed.

Fires spread quicker in hacked rooms, so they not only have trouble putting out the fires in Shields, but the fires keep spreading to adjacent rooms like Piloting (and crew in Piloting has to break through two sets of doors to get to Medbay).

It took a couple of cycles of Mind Control and Fire Bombs to Shields. But those fires can get way out of control in a hacked room, It really doesn't take long to kill the crew with that combination.

Ive gotten like half the flagship torched, just from using hacking on shields, trapping crew in there, and hitting it with a lot of BL2 pew-pew. You usually start a fire, burn everybody alive who survived the laser beams, and then it spreads when there's nobody to put it out.

Using dual Fire Beams, you can get nearly a dozen squares on fire at the same time. Considering you probably killed most of the crew at this point, there's no way they can stop it, especially if you set both doors room squares on fire.

Source: that's how I've done it.

Bombs are nearly useless for this unless you have something like Rock boarders to occupy those blazing rooms. Otherwise, they just put the fires out and then run right to the medbay. This is just how it works!

Or instead of Rock boarders, you can use Mind Control on a guy putting out the fire.

Really there are two ways of doing it with Hacking + Mind Control + Fire Bomb.

When the Flagship is full, unpower Hacking, Mind Control the guy on Shields (timing it close to the start of Flagship Cloaking), power up Hacking when two guys have made it to Shields to fight the mind controlled guy. As mind control is about to expire, the mind controlled guy will either be killed or in single digits health, and one of the guys fighting him will be 30ish health. Fire Bomb to Shields then- assuming it hits, it immediately kills mind controlled guy if he's still alive and drops the guy with 30ish health to single digits. The latter guy is going to die in the fire before he gets to do anything with those hacked doors.

When the Flagship is down to about 3 or so crew, power up Hacking, Fire Bomb to Shields. Unpower and power Hacking to let in other crew to repair Shields; when they are sending no more, level 1 Mind Control on someone in Shields.

I'm surprised you haven't done this before with Fire Bomb.

I have, I just didn't mention it this time. It usually is not a great idea, though.

There's at least one video I've seen, I can't currently find it, where someone literally destroyed the Flagship using almost nothing but Mind Control, having the enemy crew destroy their own ship.

Does anyone have a copy of that?
