I'd go for a VR version, personally. I don't even have VR but how cool would it be to sit in the captain's seat staring down the enemy ship and commanding your minions/doors

How about a remaster/remake? It's 13 years old at this point it might be nice to spice it up a little for new players

Seconding this. It's easier due to power creep, but on the other hand there are countless viable weapons, ships, and strategies in a way that simply isn't true for the base game. I won my last Multiverse game with a boarding crew of cloned phantoms who'd been upgraded to have damage resistance and ignore combat, so they'd just stand there dismantling the enemy ship for me while the enemy whaled on them ineffectually.
