best way to get a mantis ship?

I've been trying to get a mantis ship for far too long, I wanted one since I realised that it was perfect for my fighting style (bording) gave up on the quest meathod when I realised how hard it was to find and tried to get it through defeating the flagship mutiple times (I had almost every ship but the ones in front of the mantis ship in the unlocking chain except the engi ship) I could have sworn I already beat the flagship with the federation cruser anyway. any tips on what layout I should use or what wepond work best with the federation cruser? thanks.

The federation cruser? That is before the Zoltan not the Mantis. To unlock the Mantis cruser you either use the Zoltan cruser to unlock or the quest with Kas....(how ever his name is spelled).... Gotta say though if you like boarding then you will LOVE the mantis B

you have 2 shields a drone system with a boarding drone and defense drone. Crew tele that can have 4 crew in it at once. Just fly away from an auto scout. Anarcher how many hours do you have dude?

I board airless drones all the time and break their stuff... i'm confused by this whole conversation... i'm also really high on some anxiety meds or something though so maybe i'm missing things

and it has a teleporter, to tele Kazzakilipleth onto your ship.
Also, mantis so you can do the useless alien haka. :P

It's medbay level 2 OR clone bay level 2.

Now, if you can even get past s1 in Fed C is altogether another matter...

Fed C is very unreliable. Go up against the wrong combination of weapons and you'll be toast before the end of the first sector.
