Speedup button
Am I the only who thinks that this would be nice addition?
Because sometimes you just stare at your ship shoting for minutes until it finally removes enemy shields
Also when enemy ship is on fire or you wait for enemy crew die without oxygen it would be nice to increase speed

Not particularly. What if the enemy fires a Boarding Drone into the same room as a Zoltan while you're "Sped up"? That Zoltan is dead before you know what's going on, and unless you have a Clone Bay, you've just lost an extremely valuable crew member.

I'm talking about situations when you can't get any damage
For expample: enemy ship has 1 laser and 1 beam drone, you have 2 shields

Even then, such a button would be extremely situation.

Plus it looks like the Devs have done all the work on FTL that they're going to do.

i want it

If you're waiting for minutes for get past enemy shields, my first thought is "don't use auto-fire".

That said, I'd still love a feature like this - primarily for letting oxygen refill after having it off all fight to power something more important - but I highly doubt it will ever happen.

This statement is correct.

You see, it's very rare for an indie company with one game in it's name to have the time, money, manpower, and money (I listed it twice for a reason) to bother with adding updates to a game when they released Advanced Edition recently and have support for a modding community. The only reason why you see companies like Mojang (Minecraft, Scrolls, Cobalt) getting away with it is because they got stupid rich. Other companies, like Vertigo Gaming ("Cook, Serve, Delicious!"), are struggling to get by and have to tell players that they don't have the time or ability to survive if they were to update a game that has already sold to 95% of people who were interested in the game already.

I approve of there being as many ways as possible for a careless player to commit suicide. Such a button would require careful use.

And frankly, I don't see any gameplay advantage in having to sit there and wait a few minutes for a Level 1 Oxygen system to bring you up to 100%, especially if you're turning it off to power weapons or shields or drones during every battle.

There is sort of this kind of thing, if you use the FTL profile editor. It can reset oxygen levels, but you need to save and quit or the editor will fail horribly. The game doesn't like the editor running either.

The oxegen warning system never catches my eye, i need something way less subtle.

Quitting the game, invoking the editor, opening and changing then saving the file, then reopening the game, is hardly a solution to the inconvenience of waiting for oxygen to replenish. It sounds absurdly more inconvenient, actually.

Well, yes... but if you're going to save and quit anyway, it might be something to keep in mind.

Yeah i want it, most times they cant do damage to me and i cant to them so need speed it up, ofc you could die but thats your choice, i know ill not die though :)

This seems so basic, I assumed it was in the game, and even had false memory that it was. Maybe playing too much Project Zomboid right now. So confident was I, that I just did an internet search for what the command to speed up was. I played this a ton years ago, and just re-started today. I'm sure it was never in the game though.

But this isn't situational at all. At the end of an encounter, you have all the time in the world before you jump (other than the rare times do don't need this). If I'm a little low on energy, I'll take it from the O2 for the fight. So as I write this, I'm waiting for my O2 to slowly recharge. There's no value in this wait time. And now I actually remember there not being a speed up, and going away to do dishes while waiting.

Dish washing simulator, lets gooooo!

You can toggle it in multiverse (which runs on hyperspace) with a hotkey. If you open the console, the command is "speed 1 - 10". I'm not sure if that command is available in vanilla ftl.

Also nice necro btw :steamhappy:

Some people use cheat engine to speed up the game.
