Resolution Issues on HDTV
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get FTL to run on my 47' HDTV but I'm running into problems. I've changed the resolution in the settings.ini to match my normal resolution, but whenever I start a game (or the training mission), some of the HUD is always off-screen. Has anyone had this problem? Has anyone fixed it?

My normal resolution is 1768x992 by the way.

Thanks.

I tend to run fine on a TV about that same size.

Hmm. Weird. What did you put in the settings menu?

For anyone googling this problem, this actually helped me fix it.

Erm, you do know normal HDTV resolution (panel native res.) is 1920x1080? You're doing things very VERY wrong if you have that (1768x992) resolution.

Then I guess I have a weird TV. That's the resoltion that fits perfectly on my monitor.

You should be running in 1080p like anarcher mentioned. If the desktop/game doesnt "fit" properly in 1920x1080 then you probably have to adjust overscan/underscan in your video driver. Look for scaling options.

if you're not using the panel at it's native res, the video card or the tv has to resample the image, resulting in a blurry image.

Hi everyone, I actually changed my monitor's resolution to 1920x1080. It was a problem with the scaling of the monitor, nothing wrong on the PC's end. FTL fills up the screen and looks great. Thanks all.
