Slug Ship Sensors

Does anyone buy sensors on the Slug ships? I nearly always do it on normal just to give the AI something else to shoot at even though I don't really need them to find fires. On the other hand, someone said all those did was waste scrap make my ship more vulnerable to hull damage when a fire shows up. I can see the argument made on hard that scrap is hard to come by, but on normal I can buy sensors Sector 2 and still have more scrap than a comperable hard run while fires shouldn't be the hardest thing to deal with.

If you get Sensors really early, they could lead to some potential blue options later on. But the early game is the time where you don't have scrap to spare.

In the late game, Sensors can be a target for Hacking drones. And sometimes if you need a critical 3rd system, you might want to buy Sensors just to give a better chance of Cloaking or whatever you really need to show up in a store.

Overall though, they are luxuries, and in most games I can't afford luxuries.

Almost never. Slug crew makes them superfluous, and even without slug crew, you can usually figure out what's going on over there just by watching the doors and listening to the sfx.
