It's pretty decent. Like a more casual FTL that is more about exploration than a tightly-controlled puzzle.

Space Haven is like FTL meets Rimworld, it's a really great game.

I have lots of games similar to FTL, but the closest one to it is one I just bought called FTW (For The Warp). It's like FTL but with deck-building mechanics. Easy to learn and hard to master, for me at least. Been playing FTL since 2012, and I think FTW is like an FTL reincarnation.

This developer is a really cool guy and has basically single-handedly developed this game. It is really innovative and has awesome gameplay with many nuances and tricks/innovations that you can discover. Don't expect too much from the story. VERY Rogue-Like. Different ship battles/battlegrounds/levels and missions. Different approaches. Challenging.

Same developer as FTL (Subset Games). So very chess-like mechanics

Space-focused. Travelling with ships. Rogue-like. Some story, but underwhelming story telling through text walls. Fun ship-building.

My guide for this game:

Strategic. Consequences-based. Aliens. Turns.

Not rogue-like. But you can take whatever units that you have gained from one level to the next. Very strategic. Good story. Good soundtrack.

(meh 2/10 at most from me, although the visuals are better than FTL)

Convoy is a little dated but I really enjoy it

Rouge like games you mean?

I new take on rouge like since you get the FPS experience. but you die quick and often and have to slowly build yourself up to beat the game.

This one is also a fun unheard of rouge like game more akin to the traditional aspects of being an over head view one. Also lots of things to unlock, explore and collect

I personally REALLY didn't like VOID BASTARDS.

I mean, if you really enjoyed FTL, I'd recommend checking out the Multiverse Mod. Same base, but so greatly expands on crew, weapons and lore I'd say it's close to a sequel!

This game seems like fun or at least has an interesting story in the demo. I would heavily suggest buying a key instead though.

The game on Steam costs 20,99 €, the key online >1 €

EDIT: Did a playthrough. That story and atmosphere was really, really good.

I've been enjoying Shigatari, it's got similar travel map/type restrictions, instead of recruiting crew/systems you have to protect your body parts and also decide what stances and stats to work on as you progress to defeating the seven masters, as you're a ronin in feudal Japan.

In to the space
