as you probably want to use hyperspace, Download hyperspace https://subsetgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=35095

Extract the files in the "Extract where FTLGame.exe is" in your FTL directory.
somethingsomething......\Steam\steamapps\common\FTL Faster Than Light.
run downgrade.bat

done.
