The run I've had every time I was like "does this store sell a Breach Bomb, Small Bomb, Burst Laser I, Burst Laser II, Chain Laser, or Heavy laser?" And everytime I was still stuck with the Burst Laser III. At least I still won the game.
Normally I wouldn’t bother because the recharge time is insane, but I had a weapon pre-ignitor on that run and a cloak lvl 2. So I was able to get off 2 complete volleys before enemy ships could charge their first.
Needless to say; shredded everything and was a load of fun lol
Pre ireigniter is always nice.
Once I managed to buy/find 4x Burst Laser IIs while flying the Fed Cruiser! THAT was a fun run! Flagship was a piece of cake.
Yeah, I want to know if anyone in vanilla FTL actually got and used Burst Laser III without selling it at the next store.
Only time I had fun use of it was when I was somehow was able to get two Burst-Laser IIs and a Burst Laser III with a weapon pre-igniter, tried it on a few other runs, didn't went well.
I may try it again as I just returned to FTL after two years of absence though not sure if I want to try it on livestream but sounds fun actually.
I once had Glaive Beam + Burst Laser III, + Heavy Laser + Hermes missile with a pre-igniter. Fun times. Normally two four power weapons is just bad because one hit to the weapons screws up your offense but in this case I just get to chuck all that stuff at the enemy.
Pre-igniter and hacking turn several inefficient builds into viable ones. Heck hacking can turn flat out useless builds into viable ones. But he still used it so technically it fits.
