Escape Pod Mantis

I vaguely remember an event where you find an escape pod and can either rescue a human or wake up a Mantis that kills a crewman, with the odds being higher to have a positive outcome than a negative one. Did that get patched out of the game? Or maybe it's just a rare event...

It's just an event. Still there. Common enough I would not consider it rare.

The Mantis is sometimes friendly too. I believe the odds are a third of each occurrence, i.e. 1/3 you get a free Human crewmember, 1/3 you get a free Mantis, 1/3 someone gets instakilled and you have to fight a Mantis. If you have a Clone Bay it's completely risk-free (other than losing some skills from cloning).
