exactly and you can bind certain shortcuts to the controlls but run it mostly as a touch-screen game. the switch seems mostly easy to port to but i have no idea how they built FTL so that could be a problem if the switch doesn't support the tools they used to build the game. everyone and their mother is porting to the switch it seems though and a few phone games made it on there so maybe FTL can be ported too (i would buy it in an instant)

Meh, consoles.
Android version would be enough.

the switch is basically a Nvidia tablet, if they can port it to android they can port it to the switch (mostly because devs have already ported IOS and android games to the switch).

They have iOS version of FTL (:blech:)

yup they can now officially port to switch, confirmed, now the question is will they and also an android version would be cool too

whats the reason tho, we have it on PC and thats all we need, switch has no advantage over a PC except for exclusive games and being cheaper as a good laptop

but even then PC version is almost always the better version for any game

that and the switch is basically master race approved, it's a modded Nvidia tablet with decent specs and a long battery life, cheaper than a laptop, just convinient all round and the excluice games are really fun. indies are makeing a huge splash on the switch so much so that the formula to making a greats switch game is just port (insert RPG or grindy game here). it can't handel 4K but it's decent enough quality and it's basically like putting an ssd in your laptop from 2 or 3 years ago but in a 7 inch form factor and a built in controller you can split with friends.the thing even hits 60fps constant but it usually depends on how the devs optimise their games.

Or better yet, the 3DS. Portability for the win.

The Switch has the advantage of extreme portability not afforded by PCs.
NO you cannot bring the portability of the switch as an advantage. the portability is the same then a laptop has... People need to seriously stop bringing up that argument its so easily made invalid sheesh
even a rasberry pie works to debiliate that argument

only advantage is the price and the exclusive games and I personally don´t even care about the price, the reason I own a switch is solely because of exclusive games and I did buy one not exclusive game and hit myself in the face for that every single day
Hood Jan 16, 2018 @ 5:30pm
what most people mean by portability is how convenient the switch is, "i can set up a pie or a laptop and play my favorate games in under a minute!" but the switch is out and on in 2 seconds. it's also small and light so it's easy to carry a round. yes you can play portably on a laptop and your SSD makes boot up instant but setup of plug in charger and controller or other inputs and then game start up takes longer than 2 seconds so switch is just more convinient to play and set up and move. laptops still vastly out perform it but it's fun, cheaper and has exclusive games that are frankly briliant. 9/10 would recomend.
Agarillobob Jan 16, 2018 @ 5:39pm
yea thats what I said price is a factor and exclusive games are a factor but yea a laptop is maybe a bit slower to boot up and all but you will usually get the better version of the game since the switch is limited and I take a little boot up and a maybe 1 minute set up time everyday over not being able to play the better version of a game
the only reason to get a console is pretty much the exclusive games, so I can´t recomment the switch for what it is but I can recommend it for the exclusive games because they are really really good Odyssey, BotW and even splatton 2 are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing, but there is no way in hell I would even consider grabbing this game on switch, not even if it is like 5 moneys super cheap, cause I would always hate myself the exact time I´m playing it for not playing the superior pc version.
Hood Jan 16, 2018 @ 6:23pm
superior pc version? of what? FTL could run on potato, they ported it to mobile, the game modded to high still barely uses anything on a pc.what are you gonna get? 4K support? 60fps? higher screen resolution? this game is simple and fun but it's not a graphical power house and it's not breaking any gpu's any time soon, it can run on an i-phone so it can run on the switch. oh and if you're worried about losing mouse and keyboard support... well the switch has mouse and keyboard support, that and a touch screen so you can play any way you want. i see no reason not to port it unless costs of doing so is far greater than we think it will be and not worth it or the devs just don't want to, i'd buy it a second time just to play it on the go so i can die repeatedly in bank lines, waiting for the buss or like on a plane or something.
