rng events make no logical sense
I don't get it sometimes because if it were to allow me to simply play it out there is no way some of it would happen. So I have a bad ♥♥♥ ship with powerful melee crew, mind control, etc. I lose a crew member due to random event that gives an option to bring whatever it was on board to sell it, animals or something. Then my crew member is taken somehow. If I were able to control and go on the ship like I have been all run killing them all, there is no way I lose that, not in this scenario.

It seems the rng events don't ever take into account the stats or type of ship. Some things just wouldn't happen, but it's like scripted randomness that doesn't account for anything up until that point. I love the game, but hopefully we can see these more complex things worked out in FTL2 if it ever comes.

I made it to the end and won, but it still doesn't make much sense.

I generally avoid taking any options in events that could cost a crew member unless I have a clone bay, and even then, there are still a few events where a clone bay wouldn't save the crew member either.

maybe i'm being a bit greedy on some of them.

You sold the space ponies. You're a monster and deserve to be punished.

To help yourself be a better person in the future -- or at least, more selectively evil -- I have an event safety guide[mikehopley.github.io].

After playing a bit, you learn that most encounters and events CAN be dangerous.
And what did you expected, bringing unknown species on your ship, they could have been capable of everything

Never trust slugs, giant alien spiders or ponies. Never trust slugs. Always attack slugs on sight. Never trust slugs.
I cannot stress this enough: NEVER TRUST SLUGS.
Except if it's Slognog, he's cool if you make him desperate first.

You get blue options if you have the right species, weapon, system or augment for an event! Which basically means you have the right tool for the job, so you get confirmed/better rewards. If blue options are too common, events become "too safe".

I disagree with having blue options for having a maxed out skill (like boarders with hand to hand), since you will never have any maxed in the early sectors (except if you take time to afk exploit an enemy who can't damage your hull) and almost always have all skills covered in the late sectors

Yeah I have noticed some of them go better with specific crew / zone combinations.
