About those Giant Flagships in the background
How big would you say one of those big ships in the background are?

Actually, they're capital ships. Meaning they're not manouverable enough to catch up to a nimble cruiser. Think Star Destroyer vs. Millenium Falcon.

Probably not much bigger than the federation cruiser.

Fed cruiser has a prototype artillery weapon, miniaturized to fit into a cruiser sized ship.

So they're likely several times bigger than the Kestrel then. That would explain why you're only ever confronted in 1v1s in this game. The journey to the flagship is one of stealth if you really think about it.

Stealth, speed, cunning and guile.

kestral is about 25.5 meters long, assuming 1 square is about 1.5m X 1.5m.

Makes sense, so that's where ASB shots come from

Interesting =.= just wondering. because most of the ships in the game are pretty small compared to those Giant Ships in the background that nobody talks about

More than 100meters perhaps?

I assume they are huge cruiser class ships with ASB installed insted of the Federation's beam artilary. Then again, they look huge in the background.

anti-ship battery
the one that rekts you for 3 damage + breach and can't be blocked, only dodged.

Come to think of it, the rebels must be pretty dumb to not put one or two of these on the flagship. While our ship is much smaller than those capital ships i imagine, i don‘t think every ship scales 1:1 to another. The flagship is probably much more than just twice as long and wide than us, probably similarily big or bigger than other cap ships. Or maybe ASB is unable to fire at short ranges?

I would imagine that the weapons it does have count as ASB and as we see in the game a whole fleet worth of ASB can barely hit 1 ship. It would also make sense that the specialty of the flagship would be some kind of anti capitalship weapon that it would use to kill the federation base with.
