Probably the most boring rogue like I have ever played
Almost constant repeated situations, random boardings, pirates, traders, occasionaly free loot.
The biggest down side of this game is the limited options in the beginning, imagine Rogue, Cata DDA, Caves of Qud, or Tales of Meyjal allowing only TWO loadouts.
Requiring to unlock 90% of the game by beating the game.
I'm sorry that's boring as hell, I really don't see the allure of the game, but when it was released it was heavily marketed and journos were acting like it was the only game of its kind seemingly ignorant of other roguelikes.
This game is a boring grind where you don't feel rewarded at all for the time you point into it.

Oh look at that a passive aggressive fanboy that has the inability for direct discussion because of the pegging of his gf and the large amount of soy he consumes.

Sounds like you are jealous you can't find in this game what everyone else does. We can't all like the same thing, yet life moves on. As should you, later.

Once again not an argument that addresses none of my points, I find it hilarious, when I review a iron on amazon I don't get the fanatical results from pre-teens upset because they've made a video game dev their adoptive father.

This game is a boring grind where you don't feel rewarded at all for the time you point into it.

There are multiple ways to unlock different ships, and there are 3 different layouts for each ship.
While you can unlock ships the boring way, through game completion, the ships can all be unlocked early by finding specific quest-lines within runs, while it is up to RNGesus to determine if you find these quest-lines (befitting of most rogue-lites).
Layout B of all the ships usually vastly change the loadout and playstyle of a ship, and are unlocked in the defacto Rogue-Lite way of doing arbitrarily difficult achievements to unlock them.
Layout C simply requires that you reach the final sector (not even beat the game).

All of the repeated situations usually have varying solutions that change the outcome, and it's up to you to decide if you want to take the risks offered in such situations in exchange for rewards, and other times it becomes RTS like through Combats and Boarding, this game isn't like other Rogue-Lites where it's constant live action, this game is also a strategy game, if strategy games don't appeal to you, this game won't.

I can see where you're coming from. True, you start out with only one "class", but the point of the game is to unlock all the ships and their three different layouts per ship. Unlocking each layout/ship isn't usually repetitive, as each ship has different play styles.

Lastly, the reward is in completing the game (or just simply enjoying playing it?), which other people interpret differently. Either you unlock EVERYTHING, beat the game on all difficulties, etc.

Maybe this isn't your type of roguelike?

This isn't a review. There is an actual spot for that on Steam... go leave one if you feel so inclined. You are not trying to have a discussion here, you are trying to be an ass.

How stupid do you think other people are?

Seems I hit a sore spot, when did videogames stop being a product to you and more of a thing of worship?

Don't think I've yet encountered a rogue like, -lite or game for that matter that don't have repetitive situations.

The original rogue didn't even have character classes. You were just the same @ every time.

Since you summed it all up so well, I'm out of here.
