Rule #1: BACKUPS
Rule #2: If you don't know what something does or how it will work, change it anyway.
Rule #3: Accept that during #2, your game will break in some form or other. This is the existence of Rule #1.
If you jump closer to the final battle (-10 fuel at exit beacon), the next sector is a normal one and will have at least one store. The infinite mode exit beacon jumps (no extra fuel) you to a sector that may or may not have a store, but you can still get one from one of the store-generating events in the game.
I personally don;t like infinite space, but the captains edition mod is amazing.
They do work well together as captains edition has a compatible infinite space version.
