But you can do that anyways, dose it not take away feul or something?

ANY means at any distance, not just adjacent ones.
Basically there's no good reason for a good captain to use that.

Oh ok, so if i rush to the exit, i can explore the rest of the sector, and when the enemys catch up, or get too close, i can just go to the exit again?

Yeah, you can do it like this, didn't think of that.
Still it's at least 2 jumps wasted.

In the first itterations of the game you couldn't see beacon paths, so it may have had more use then. You can still turn the option off in the settings, if you fancy that.

I guess there is a use for it, if you somehow wind up in a dead end due to haste.
Or if the exit is in the middle of the sector, you can dive very deep and warp back to face only one rebel elite.
Do not buy it though, it is not worth it, even though it has a blue option you can do to instantly finish one of the escort quests.

It's the only augment so irredeemable I removed it from the game in the Balance Mod.

An interesting enough idea, but one that's almost entirely worthless if you're playing well.

It gets sold for scrap.

I've seen a few maps where you could get a few more warps in by moving past the exit to some lengthy cul-de-sac after it, then use it to warp back in just one warp. I remember thinking "Adv. FTL would be useful for this."

I've never actually had it when that happened, though, because I immediately sell it.

The exit is a guaranteed good or neutral event unless it's in a nebula

Yeap, but you need to visit it to be able to return to it later. So at least 1 jump wasted if you return directly to it, 2 if it's isolated and you have to jump to some visited beacon first.

Well if you treat the exit as a normal jump in your jumping strat, then it really only is 1 jump.
You only jump to ONE previously visited location.

And if you're diving it's not even empty as you get a fight there.
Granted, you only get one fuel for winning but still XD

Well, this thread made me realize that it's not actually as useless as i thought. Still i prefer hoarding Scrap Recovery Arms, i'm a spacejew :hmm:

Too bad even with mods it's not possible to have more than 3 augments :steamsad:

It's a worthless augment because you're always moving right and have no reason to backtrack with the fleet chasing you. This is probably the most worthless augment in the game, unless you count the clone backup without having a clone bay, or the teleport heal without the teleport. But these are useful with the right systems. That FTL augment is NEVER useful.
