Progress gone after every quit
I own this game a long time, but played it today for the first time. And my problem is really annoying. Every time I save & quit the game, my progress is gone.

The saving in this game is kinda broken. I found the save game folder and I still have the saves from 2014 when I started the game and tested it for 1 minute. That means, that my game isn't saving. I turned off the steam cloud and still the game isn't saving. After deleting the folder. My game don't make a new folder. I don't understand this.

I hope someone can help me.

You could change the save location for FTL. No clue if it works but it may be worth a try. Here are the instructions how to do that: http://ftlwiki.com/wiki/Portable_USB
When the game is running there should be a folder with a continue and something else file which you can copy while the games up. If your constantly having trouble trying unistaling some mods, if theyre installed in the wrong order or conflict they may muck up your saves.
As a last resort you can always try a fresh install.

I know, the problem is, the save file don't update. It's still from 2014, even if I play the game.

It has to be something on my computer. I installed the game on my laptop and it's fine there. No problems. But I think my computer has a problem to access the folder?

I change the computer name from "I AM GROOT" to "GROOT" and my "personal" folder with photos, videos and of course the folder documents is still called "I AM GROOT"...???

Computer name != anything else.

Changing your user account name probably doesn't even rename that folder - in fact, I'm 90% sure it doesn't rename that folder because doing so would screw with games like FTL which suddenly look for 100%savethatisveryimportant.sav and find it's not there.

Computer name is almost solely used for networking, having very little to do with what goes on with your computer.

Can you just delete/move the save file, then start a new game to see if the problem persists after that?

I already did this. The game isn't creating new files. If I look into"stdout.txt" file, I'll find this:

Almost sounds like it could be some permissions issue with the folder/file. You check all that for sufficient rights?
