TAS 2 PS4 OR PC?
I love the first game on PC but again because its a console port its not really optimized and crashes every so often during each session of play,

I have been debating getting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game for either my PC or my PS4 because I have a few other games like Saints Row IV, Batman Arkham Origins etc and where their great games the companies just havnt cared much about the PC port to give us crash/bug free game play lately and I want to be able to play long sessions with out having much issues, glitches and stuff I can forgive but when a game has game breaking bugs or cant run stable for a long time it gets really frustrating.

Before any of you ask my PC Specs are

Windows 7 64bit
Nvidia GTX 770 2gb
32gb Ram
3x 2tb HDD's, 1x SDD HDD which Win is on

My PS4's specs are....
Sony Playstation 4..duh:P

Whats everyone else think on this? will the companies do a proper job on today's ports or is it worth just going with a console version?

I'd suggest waiting a few days to see what kind of feedback you get. Game isn't out yet so only time will tell. I'm hoping they fixed the crashing issues from the first one. Only issue I've had on the PC version. Game looks so much better on PC than console and the load times are of course way better.

Yeah the crashing is the only issue I've had too all though not getting my hopes up I was able to play an hr and a half session with no crashing just now on the first game after I put all in game settings on max, then in the Nvidia Manage 3d settings under hte games main exe I set AA mode to enhance the applications settings, AA setting to 16x CSAA and CUDA GPUs setting to ALL, gonna play again shortly to see if it goes with out crashing or it was just a coindicidence.

On topic though I would prefer to buy the game on steam if its gonna be a good port as once i start collecting a game series on a system I prefer to stick with getting the sequals on same system etc.

Get it for PS4, as past experiences are bad with the first one you'll have smoother gameplay on PS4 and i don't think there'll be huge difference in graphics

In this case, your best off getting the current gen that hasn't faded out yet,or the new gen, the game was primarilly made for ps3 and xbox 360, with the next gen ones being higher res ports of those, so Id just say buy any of those 4, save yourself the headache, cause if it dosn't work, don't execpt steam to give you your money back, and if you ask activision, they will just shrug u off.

Get it on the PS4, its terrible optimized on the PC and controller support doesnt work
Sword O Mighty May 1, 2014 @ 1:49pm
Does the controller support ever work? I can't think of any game in the past 4 years, that took a controller, oh wait DmC that one was great :).

Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me? His pc EATS his PS4 on brute force power and performance. Heck I don't even know why he bought a PS4 having that PC, I suppose for the casual Exclusive games and PSN+. My computer has 5 years old and still beats PS4, and is way way behind than his...

What bugs me is why do the OP asks about performance, do you even know what have you bought? Well I suppose not seeing those 32gb and 6tb of space. You don't even need 1/4 of that nowadays unless you do heavy multiprocessing for forecasting or something like that

@Rheed, I ended up buying it on here any ways but I asked before where I know my PC could handle it no problems what I was asking about it for was weather it would be a good port or not coz you could have the best pc avaliable but if the port for pc is unstable and not optimized it would'nt matter how good your pc the game will still fail you.

Also I boguht a PS4 just for that casual gaming, exclusive game etc and a few of my friends only game on consoles so i wanted to be able to stil play selected multiplayer games with them.

To add to that my pc is not just a gaming pc I also do alot of editing/CG work etc on it thats why I bought such a beefy machine

A powerful PC that has better spec than consoles doesn't mean you don't get quality console games on PC and well worth it to invest in a console for these games (Hints at Last of Us, Journey, etc)

Never PS4. Never.

That twist my ass to say that but talking about this game it should be better to get it on PS4 or else. I don't know why or how they could do that but as the first game was not so badly optimised for PC (exept those game crash but exept that was smooth and very beautiful) this one is such a pain in the ass.
Dude I have almost the same PC as you (just 2x 660 TI SLI instead of your GPU) and the game is so laggy for god sake. FPS always doing rollercoaster like 60 to 15. The only way to get it almost smooth is playing it every graphics options at low. That is so lame with such our PC configuration.
I saw many post about Beenox/Actvision about their spiderman licence on PC : THEY WON'T DO ANY PATCH. They just don't care, for them it's a small game license. Perhaps somedays Nvidia will release a new driver that oiptimize this game but it's just a wish into the stars....
Sword O Mighty May 7, 2014 @ 11:37am
I hope Disney now that they own Marvel, decide to terminate activision's lisence, I'd rather a new company made Spider-Man games from now on.
