How to fix the resolution
I've just purchased the game and couldn't get past the launching/resolution issues. After looking around for answers I came up with this fix.

Just like everyone said Delete VideoDetection.dll from the installation folder in order to launch the game.

Run Regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Activision\ASM and look for Display set your width and length according to your desktop resolution.

Then go back to the installation folder make a back up of ASMLauncher and delete it. Copy the game exe and rename it as ASMLauncher (that's the important bit).

This way you can bypass the launcher and run the game on your native resolution.

I haven't tested it beyond the opening of the game but at least it makes the bloody thing playable.

It worked holy cow, thanks. Is there a way to turn vsync on? very Distracting but at leats it's not in that horrid low resolution.

Glad this helped. :)

Try to force vsync through your graphic card's control panel (works with Nvidia can't say for other cards).

Figured it out! For anyone wondering how to set Vsync on just set the Value Data for the Decimal to 1 for Vsync, same place to fix the resolution. Again, Thanks OP.

Hi, this solution doesn't work for me :(
I followed all the steps, and it looked very promising but the resolution is still very low.. When I check in Regedit after launching the game, the width and height always go back to 800 and 600.
Is it normal than I can only launch the game from the library and not from the exe files ?
(Sorry if there are some mistakes in my statement, english isn't my mother tongue).

Hi, I had the same issue at first. have you tried switching the height and width resolution with each other? Say if you put it 1920 for height and 1080 for width. Instead put 1080 for width and 1920 for height and vice versa if you did a latter first.

I just tried it, and nothing has changed :/
(but thanks for trying to help me !)

Did you rename the Game.exe to ASMLauncher.exe? This part is key and you should remove the original ASMLauncher.exe from the folder. You should not see the launcher where you can edit game settings, if you see that then something went wrong. Sorry the game couldn't be fixed for you, I'm having saving issues with Shattered Dimensions and it blows.

If the width and height are going back it means that you probably didn't switch the files.

The important part is to copy the game exe and rename it as ASMLauncher (so it actually runs when you launch the game).

When launching the game Steam runs ASMLauncher so by renaming the exe we're tricking the game into running the exe directly instead.

If you don't rename the exe then the game will still be using the launcher and as a result it will reset your settings every time you're running the launcher.

So correct me if i'm wrong but in the end you're supposed to have at the same time "game.exe" + a copy of this same file but but renamed "ASMLancher" ? Because that's what I did and I could indeed launch the game without going through the setting menu, but the resolution is still stuck to 800*600 :steamsad:

Correct. That is the only solution I've found to bypass the setting menu (and avoid the resolution being reset to the default value).

Too bad this workaround doesn't work for you guys.

For me I only have the game.exe renamed to ASMLauncher.exe

Somehow I got this work.. its run on 1920x1080. now the issue is not all setting high.. some option will make game not working if set too high.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=711817789

after tested the setting.. only shadow on medium can run smoth.. higher than that make the game crash

can someone make a video of how to do it because I couldn't understand some instructions :v :steamsalty:

All you have to do after setting the resolution is renaming the game.exe to ASMLauncher.exe I don't know how to explain it better.

You will find these exe in your game folder (you can right click in your steam library select properties and local files or browse until you get to the game folder in the Steam folder).
