How to unlock the framerate?

Its locked at 60 fps and tweaks to unlock it higher ? Im playing on a 144hz monitor

I did the hex edit and it works in the menu but crashes when the save game starts to load.

i guess the edit no longer works then. now what happens for me, is that i guess the game now runs too fast, since my character just flies all over the place and clips through the floor. so don't use this hex edit, as it no longer seems to work, and stick to 60fps, until someone makes a new framerate unlocker, if that will happen.

Yes, i started a new game, doesn’t work. And the dlcs are unplayable too now.

yes the DLCs are in the Challenges menu. and, i play at 60fps too, i always have, i only tried unlocked a couple times, but stuck to 60 every other time. Also, has the game crashed for you yet? since for me, it crashed probably 30-40 times.

No crashes no. It has been pretty smooth bit I haven't tried the mod.. just been playing it vanilla. Runs a lot better than expected compared to other PS3/360 era ports.

I have found a solution. Use a hex editor like HxD to edit Game.exe. so Download HxD from here, https://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD20. Open it, and click on open and find Game.exe from the TASM folder. Then hit Ctrl+F and go to the 'Hex values' tab and type in, or paste this 89 88 88 3C, and replace it with 3F 0B 36 3B (that's for 360 fps, idk of any lower frames like 144fps, as i'm just getting this info from PCGamingWiki. :P), and save it, and you're done. :)

You might also need to manually force 144 hz inside Regedit since the game might only use 60hz, for that, look at the widescreen notes on how to do that.

Hope this works and has finally solved it for you. :)

EDIT: do not use the hex edit anymore, as it doesn’t work properly anymore, for me, and other users. So refrain from using it for now, until and if someone makes a new framerate unlocker, if that’ll ever happen.

At first it didn't work, but after I turn off Virus protection setting IT WORKED!!!

Hi , actually i found how to lock fps with the Cheat Engine method from
( https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Amazing_Spider-Man_(2012)#Video_settings )

This method works for The Amazing Spiderman 1 & 2 (I done it on both)

If you want for example 120 fps lock you just need to do

1/120 = 0.00833333
(=value you change in cheat engine for the 4 entries in scan)

so for 144hz it's :

1/144 = 0,006944444
(=value you change in cheat engine for the 4 entries in scan)

To have the value for the correct fps lock you want you just need to do 1/x (1 divided by x)
(x=being the number of framerate you want vsync to lock) and change the value in Cheat Engine by the value you have obtained doing your operation.

(I made a link with the options you need to have checked on Cheat Engine and also a CE table for The Amazing Spiderman 2, if you want to use it for the first episode you just need to change the process in cheat engine and also in the case Memory Scan Options to "Game.exe")

Good day sir. Can you be so kind and explain more about how you are able to find those 5 shown values in your cheat engine, because I am able to find only 2 of them as per pcgamingwiki tutorial, yet one of them cannot be changed. Also could appreciate video tutorial if you could make it. Thank you
