hallway level is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid

I'm playing on hard mode, how is that remotely fair with just a revolver?

Maybe I'm the only one, but I love the hallway. Took me about 15-20 tries, was intense, and felt great when I got it. But I also did it on Normal... can't relate to what it's like on Hard.

Only complaint is that it comes so early in the game. Felt like taking calculus before algebra.

I was frustrated when playing this level for the first time. Took me about 20 tries :(
When I play through the game a second time for hard mode, I find reloading a bit easier in windowed mode.

I like making things unnecessarily difficult for myself, so I ran hard mode first run. It took me three play sessions altogether, the second of which was about 45 minutes of attempting that level.
I tried to cheese it a couple times, as shown in this tutorial: https://youtu.be/HApKE9Dt4tQ?si=iYpOszHdU3ccpGEP
It never worked for me, so I just kept trying. My tips are:

Make sure you enter with fully loaded revolver, full inventory and 2-3 syringes.

If you aim straight down the corridor, you'll always hit one of them.

Make sure to pick up ammo as you go down the hallway.

Start by shooting your whole mag immediately, then travelling about four 'grabs' down the hallway and empty shells. As soon as you hear the enemies again, you have about two second until they appear, and another couple until they are close enough to attack. By the end of it I could load about four bullets into the cylinder between hearing them and leave enough time to kill the first one before it attacks.

Rinse and repeat this all the way down the corridor. You'll have to play around with:
1. How much time you allow yourself to aim straight down the corridor
2. How far back you go each time, and if you fully unload and reload every time
These will vary based on how well you aim and how fast you can reload the whole cylinder.

You should try Exanima and get killed because you tripped over a chair in full plate armour haha

First of all, you have to get there with full inventory of bullets and loaded revolver. Second, you follow the rule of four. Fire four shots at enemy (make sure they all hit), reload just four, pick up new bullets, run to next bullet. Again, reload four, fire to kill one and so you repeat. Took me about three tries with this method but you have to get better with reloading for it.
