How does hard mode change the game?

How does it make the game harder exactly? Does it give enemies higher amounts of health and/or damage or does it reduce the amount of ammo and syringes you can find in levels? I'm beaten the game twice on normal so I've gotten pretty good at it but I'd like to know what to expect from hard mode in terms of difficulty and resources since there are a few levels in the game that are already frustrating and annoying normally as it is.

less ammo,the game only saves when you pass the levels,a little more of enemies,less injections.Its hard but if you know the game in 2 hours is done

Are there really less injections? I have noticed the other effects, but i still routinely exit levels while leaving injections behind just like in the original difficulty

maybe im wrong but i didnt see a lot of injection in harcore as normal

There feels like there's less healing and a lot less ammo in general. I actually almost completely ran dry on some occasions.
Also, enemies are faster. The rats especially. The rats instil fear in me.

Its great, finally a hard mode that doesn't consist on just boosting enemies life and damage. Amazing job dev!

I definitely noticed there being less ammo and too had to go on with barely any ammo, but there seem to still be syringes and med boxes laying all over the place.

Off-topic but is hard mode already there in the beginning or you must complete normal to unlock hard mode? I completed the game few times on normal so I have no idea.
