Are you just screwed if you reach the flesh lip without enough ammo?

playing on hard and I just beat this thing. i had so much ammo going into it, like 110 handgun around 18 shotgun shells. now i'm at like 34 handgun and 5 shotgun shells left

you can beat the game with only melee weapons, so no you're not screwed if you don't have enough ammo.

I just did this and used like 1 bullet. Felt melee worked better for this. On normal though.

You can shoot the arm which it's using to hang from the ceiling and then melee it for a few times.
