Awful Frame Rate/ Help Please
Hello everyone! I feel like I'm going crazy! This game has overwhelmingly positive reviews so there MUST be a very small minority of people with frame issues in the game. I'm not here to talk bad about the game or bring up gaming politics, please. just wanna find a solution. I have a 3070, have the graphics set to low. The game will run fine for a few minutes then just tank fps. Drops so low it becomes unplayable because it makes me sick just how bad the frame rate gets. It happens in apartments, fog, even cut scenes have dropped and stuttered like crazy. I'm not here to talk trash, again, the few glorious moments the game has run smoothly, I've super enjoyed! I'be tried prioritizing to high in task manager and have HAGS set to off and still no fix. Thank you very much and I appreciate you guys.

Check for driver updates for your pc stuff, add -dx11 to your steam startup instructions or check this link https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3344190234

After 6 hrs i experienced the same fps drops a few times, like it goes from (locked) 45fps down to single digit(!) and then recovers again after a few seconds.

No idea why, my vram is slightly below 7gb used

The framerate and optimization is in fact awful, espescially the beginning and the apartment. This game was clearly rushed. The game is getting good reviews because it's the first good full Silent Hill game since 2004, and people are willing to look past the awful performance.

A real shame. I'll stick to Enhanced Edition myself

Peak Edition.

-dx11 in launch settings, drop shadows to low.

I have a 3060ti and 13600k and I'm running this on fairly high settings just fine with a few slowdowns, such as around the bars intersection and as I'm transitioning through some areas.

This. That is 90% of the battle at his point. It will still stutter pretty bad, but those two settings nearly double my FPS on a Radeon RX 6600. I also find FSR 1 to be faster and look better, less blurry, than FSR 3...But if you have Nvidia (DLSS?), dunno.

Game is unoptimized and it's automatically "clearly" rushed ?
The game is getting good reviews because it's great and with all the performance issues, at least to me, it was never to the point where It was unplayable. The whole game compensates for it

I also have a 3070 with an i5 12600k and 16gb ram and I played it on max settings, ray tracing on and dlss to quality and it was fine
There were some areas that went low to like 25-35 fps but for the most part it was around 50 to 60 and that was more than playable for me (while also streaming on discord)

Nothing compensates for performance issues these severe. I do agree that the game in substance is great. But the way it runs, totally unacceptable. Reporting from a 4090/12900K

Framerate is mostly locked, but frametimes are so wildly inconsistent that it's as if whenever you move your character more than a couple feet, you are micro-stuttering

Well that's a bummer, it was fine to me

You said yourself that the game drops to 25FPS in some areas, do you really believe that the optimization of this game is adequate if it drops your 3070 to sub-30FPS?
