I fact checked the sales figures on the Medium and they were accurate. Good post. You can ignore the trolls who can't use google.
I am curious what the budget for this game will be. I'm not obsessed with sales figures so at the end of the day that doesn't make the game good or bad to me, but I'm curious what was spent and if Konami will get back into video games as a result.
Typical troll, and I don't even need to use quotes here.
If there is a part 3, I hope the characters will be more like the original.
Good one...
Silent Hill 2 remake's budget is probably around 50 million. Which is some 7 times the Medium's budget.
This game is funded by Konami not Team Bloober by the way. But either way there is zero chance its budget is 7 million.
They haven't recovered anything, considering developement costs, staff costs, production and distribution costs for physical release and the marketing costs they will need several million copies sold to just break even. And breaking even won't make the cut, Konami will expect a significant profit out of this game that is highly unlikely to ever happen.
And for now we are barely at 200k copies sold (and this doesn't even includes the refunds, which would lower the number even more).
It's not a success, for now it's a massive financial flop.
But hey, in the alan woke II community there are still people thinking that the game was a financial success despite the devs complaining in an interview about not having made a profit yet on the game, so i guess you can't beat cope.
