So is the game good or is everyone still being overly negative?

I'm in the camp of people that are optimistic on playing this game. I'm aware the original exists and, for most people at least, is considered objectively better compared to the remake, but still I want to play this version despite there being a vocal minority of people who are very puritanically against remakes.

Look, if the original developers that no longer work at Konami still gave it a positive recommendation and overall liked it, then can we finally stop with all the slander against this game and let people who are interested in it just try out for themselves and enjoy it?

I'm not here to simp for Konami or anything, god knows they've done a lot of sh*t to upset everyone in the past, but at least if they given us something good once in a while, then it's something worth commending over since there are passionate developers behind this game and if they put good effort into it, then it's worth playing and enjoying.

I think it's pretty good. Improved in some areas, others not so much. It's kind of up to subjective opinions on what works or doesn't. I'd say it's good and recommend it. Props for having a level head.

I've never played any SH games before this remake but I liked it. It of course has some issues like it stutters, the combat can be clunky in the tight corridors, some sections felt too long but overall it was a good game.

stylistically it's hit and miss, but it's not bad which is a lot more surprising and impressive than people seem to understand. this is like if leprechaun in the hood had a sequel and it was as good as they live. it's just completely confusing, which is probably why most of the threads here are incoherent.

game is good, sound design is superb, just wish it still had the ability to save at any time and make james run a bit faster, i personally have no issues with maria or angela but i understand why ppl might not like their new looks, they not only remade the game but expanded at almost every place to add more content to the game and make it longer overall.

Only up to the Hospital so far, but up until this point I would pretty confidently say this remake is superior to the original game in just about every single way it possibly could be.

Okay, so Angela doesn't look identical to her original PS2 version, but considering her backstory, does it matter if she looks a bit ugly, honestly?

Also, Maria looks close enough to her original version, so it's no big deal.

Seeing how the modding community tends to attempt to "fix" these types of things if there's enough support for it, there will be tons of mods to adjust the game to look similar to the original in every way.

And judging by the "artwork" also posted here, I'm going to assume there's going to be plenty of cursed lewd mods out there as well. Seeing as how similar horror game communities, including the Resident Evil community also tends to have mods like that, I shudder to think what they'll make out this. Yuck.

I think Angela looks good in the end product, and I think she looks much more like a traumatized 19yo than the 30yo in the OG. Kinda wack that an SA survivor character is being judged for not being 'bang able'.

But in all honesty... I still laugh a little when the David Duchovny (sure I butchered that last name) meme of her from the earlier trailers comes onto my social feeds...
