So I always look at it in two ways, is it forced and destroyed a good IP as was the case with the Arkham series and Batman for example, if yes, then I go full salty grognard; If it's no, then I don't even care about their influence.
Seriously. The last act of The Medium was a YIKES from me, dog.
A child grapist was redeemed by one of his victims because it wasn't his fault, he was possessed by a demon.
Main character is trying to rescue her mentally ill sister, who wants to unalive the heroine so that she won't be possessed by a demon... the solution? The heroine must unalive herself instead! How ground breaking.
Uhm thanks for your comment but what does this have to do with anything that I said?
And same goes for anything in general. Instead of making enemies and fighting for causes I see stuff in a case by case scenario.
These trolls also don't realize the FMV and pixels hid alot. Seeing maria look like a 2 dollar hooker would actually cheapen the experience, IMO. How she is now is perfect because it STILL conveys his suppressed desires but she doesn't look like a brothel worker either.
Calling for a safe space everwhere you go eh? Toughen up kid.
Nah, look at my profile history and you'll see I'm as anti woke as you can be. But this game's forum is full of noise that is obviously just for spamming. You are obviously just a little child and I hope your parents take your internet access away.
They should take a break from Youtube, Twitter and other platforms with grifters telling them what to think.
Sorry, but that is NOT exactly, what happened.
Her dad witnessed the predators TRAUMA (when he visited his "inner world") and made him braindead by killing his innocent childhood part because he actually DIDN'T care about his childhood traumas and just wanted to punish him for what he did to his daughter. And the protagonist simply send what was left of him to the afterlife so he would be gone for good. She didn't "forgive" him and neither did his former friend and student (her dad) or the victim (her sister).
Now to the second part: Her sister wanted the protagonist to kill HER and NOT to kill herself. Her pain/trauma separated from her in the past and became "the maw" after saving them from the fire that the government agent started who was after their dads powers. It started acting independedly, posessed a nurse who killed the predator (which is why the protagonist finds the disgusting "remains" of his ghost/soul) and rampaged further; posessing more and more people in its path. To it the protagonist was the only one (as a medium AND the sister of its former "host" and origin) who could become a permanent "vessel" that couldn't be "worn out". So she probably thought that her death would make it impossible for it to find a host like her or something like that. Suicide was her idea because she didn't want to kill her sister who she JUST reunited with. The ending is open ended so it's not even confirmed who died. Now to your critisism: One CAN make the point that its tone deaf (towards real victims) and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ writing to pull a "the monster can only be stopped if the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SA victim of all people gets killed". And in this context does the "you can't always save everyone, butterfly" line hurt all the more. So.. I get that. I GET it. But the predator has NOT been forgiven and the only "demon" who made him do it were his own urges that manifested earlier in life. NO ONE is trying to redeem him. There is a difference between "explanation" (in ths case how he became this way) and a "justification". And in this case they practiced the former in their writing rather than the latter. If you want to accuse a game of endorsing a predator, pick "The Suicide of Rachel Foster". Yeah, might be a spoiler if you haven't played it yet.. but you might actually be thankful for the "warning" once you witness it yourself. Sorry.. I rarely write in the forums but as someone who played the medium more than once I couln't help but correct you.
