Silent Hill 2 didn't get nominated for GOTY?!!!

I knew it, even with overwhelmingly positive reception, this game wouldn't get nominated because Geoff Keighley is Kojima's super duper best friend forever ❤️❤️❤️

I would say it shouldn't be nominated due to the notable technical issue it still has but Elden Ring not only won 2 years ago, but its expansion is nominated this year (and that game is in a far worse state) and is in perhaps an even worse technical state now.

Black Myth also (performance mode running typically at 30fps or below and then using fsr frame gen to try and get to 60) and stutter, albeit not as bad as silent hill 2.

Then again, I don't think there is any value giving attention to the game awards, same as the oscars.

This is what people need to learn, not to care about what a minor amount of people say is the best game. Its all subjective, everybody has different tastes in media, we dont need to listen to them tell us what we should like.

I also wish people would stop caring about IGN giving a game a 7 or 8 outa 10.

Who cares? Does anyone actually watch The Game Awards for the Awards? I thought we were only watching the Game Awards for the new game announcements and world premiers and stuff. I'm there to watch trailers of new games. I couldn't care less about nominees and awards.

I would disagree that it is all subjective, there is botha n objective and subjective aspect. It is objective for example that this game has traversal stutter, the effect the gameplay design has i subjective, whether it is broken or not can indeed be objective and so on.

But yes, people should stop paying attention to this award shows whose main goal is to market products to you.

I believe what they are trying to say is not that they don’t care but that we shouldn’t care about such awards. I agree with that. They basically use the most popular games as free advertising for their award show. The game stands on its own merits without needing some award show to claim any credit for anything but use the game’s name as free publicity.

Stop making things up. The expansion of ekdrn Ring demands more hardware in comparison to the base game, but the game is completely fine. 30 hours in, haven't seen a single glitch or bug, performance drop, crash or anything or this sort.

Black Myth runs extremely better in comparison to SH2.

Same goes for all UE5 titles apart from the new Stalker 2, which is a HUGE MESS atm.
