Stutter Issue
I haven't played very long. I've only had it a week, but it's stuttering bad for me and I am not sure about how to fix it. I have tried every video setting, and nothing helps at all. I'm running an ASUS TUF Gaming A17 with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H with Radeon Graphics 3.20 GHz. I only have 16 Gig of RAM, which could be the issue. Any help figuring this out would be really appreciated. I'm not the most savvy when it comes to PC games. Thanks.

Even on x3d processor, the situation is terrible, a patch is needed urgently, but I can't resist playing it. :p

People's experience with stuttering in this game varies. In my case, stuttering mostly does not exist, except for a less than one second stutter that occurs occasional each time the game needs to load something.

For your case
Do you have the game installed on a hard disk drive or a Gen4 NVMe SSD?
What graphics settings are you using?
Resolution? DLSS Setting? Graphics Preset? (Low, Medium, High?)

Guys, did you check Steamdb?!?! They're working on a patch night and day! Check the Bleeding_Edge Build! It'll be released any day now!

Sarcasm aside, I suspect this game will probably be fully patched to the extent where Bloober can get most of the performance problems fixed within a year but I hope I'm wrong and that it won't take that long.

I am playing on SSD drive, graphics I have turned way down to below 1080p and it’s still stuttering to the point I am getting my butt stomped in the hospital, and am running around almost dead because the stuttering is preventing me from reacting quickly like I should be. DLSS is off.

I have 3060TI Oc and 5800x3d with 64gb.
Ram isnt the issue.
i run 1080 with DLSS on and max settings with a 2GB NMVE as a drive.

Slight twitch during a load but in one section of the hospital near the stairs it stutters 1 st time but thats all.

no crashes and no stutters while I am running the game
your experience is rare and cool

If you’re consistently stuttering despite putting your graphics to lowest preset, despite putting DLSS to maximum performance, despite setting vsync to 30 fps, then my guess with limited information I have about your system is that there’s something overheating in your PC, probably the CPU. But I’m just guessing.

Try installing hardware monitoring software to try see your temperatures, and see which components are being pushed to their limits while playing this game.

Edit: It seems like you have a laptop CPU, so I am guessing you’re gaming on a laptop. Seems overheating guess may be likely your issue especially for the CPU as laptops tend not to have the best cooling solutions especially for a game like this which is known to be quite demanding.

Ignore the above. The game has large traversal stutter fir everyone. Look up digital foundry on this they cover it very well.

This problem requires the devs to patch it. It isn't your laptop overheating. It is poor development that requires the devs to fix there game.

The game does have less than one second occasional loading stutter but nothing that will render the game unplayable. If the stuttering is so bad that you can’t even play the game then there is an issue other than the game. Furthermore, you don’t even own the game. I record myself playing the game since early access and it has been a mostly stutter free experience except the occasional loading stutter that is less than one second. Do I need to upload a video and I have a frame time meter also on my recordings. It’s mostly flat except an occasional spike each time it needs to load something. If I didn’t have a frame time meter I probably wouldn’t even notice any stuttering.

PC gaming standards are so low now that it's almost like just playing console. Fond memories of most third-party PS3 games running at sub-20FPS most of the time.

I think the first thing I’m going to try is upgrading my RAM to 64 gig and SSD to 2Tb. I’ll then try playing with the settings again and see what happens.
