The OG was perfect at around 7 hours, give or take. The remake with basically the exact same stuff, only dragged out, lasts a whooping 20 hours, which by all accounts are three times longer than a survival horror game should be!
As for those who still think the remake is trash, I think it's more likely people who can't play it due to optimization (I don't blame them) or, uh... Self-proclaimed "fans" of the original game. I enjoyed the remake as much as original and now I can't wait for the remake of the very first game, which is my favourite.
