You're trying to make James in OG be multidimensional when he isn't to repeat its do to line delivery. You mention the bowling alley reading the line is that intended to be funny? No its suppose to be serous but you take it as James being funny when it isn't.
poor line delivery isn't giving a character more life its you projecting what you want the character to be. James is the same in both games. Only issue with Angela is the stoic line delivery but I can now believe she's 19 compared to the original.
By the way, Luke Roberts, the guy who portrayed James Sunderland in the remake, won an award for best performance in the Horror Game Awards 2024.
Original James character: "I am really motivated to see Mary again, it's very important to me. I would do anything to be with her again, I'm confused though, and shocked because of what happened to me, I have to make it right"
Which he even says in the story. And he has enough charisma to prove that he does actually care.
Fact that James decided to go through this hell to find Mary isn't enough for you to prove that he cares? Mid opinion, mid takes. OG characters don't feel slightly as human as in remake. Remake has surpassed the original in all ways. Perhaps Mary's letter was slightly different but that's it
I don't argue over a preference I think your reasons are just odd and projecting something onto James that isn't there in the original. More space to debate what? You already said why and I point out why that's faulty logic.
The bowling building is still there but the scene like the original club was moved. Same effect of the original is there odd choice but not the end of the world. Anyway last post. If anyone wants to read why OP thinks what he does refer to lines #40-46 since there's nothing else to cover.
This thread /IS/ pointless, always was, always will be, because its meant as you own sactuary of approval, which you will not get from anyone here.
