I am a fan of UE 5 but other titles with it performed better. This one brings my rig do its knees and I cant get 60 FPS even putting DLSS on balanced does not really help much.
The game feels outdated, boring, clunky and old. Its not my fav genre but I loved the Resident Evil 2 remake and I actually prefer the modernized action Resident Evils over the old Puzzle ones. I guess the 2 remake is like mix of both ...
The enemies do not give me fear but just annoyance, the movement feels like slow motion. I guess its supposed to help because you supposed to feel helpless ... whatever. I started on hard, completely missed multiple healing pickups for some reason and was stuck with large sections of the game without any heal and 1 HP. Constantly limping.
It feels like a game I already played. What is so innovative about it? I mean I guess the beginning is slow and when I get the gun it gets better, but I do not think it will even get close to the RE2 remake. Zero innovation. Find items, combine them, find key, use it ... clunky slow ass movement. Graphics are nice be enemies are rather cheap annoyance and horror inducing. I restarted the game on normal and found more healing items now so. Maybe I will up it to hard either but the start of the game for sure is not very engaging or innovative. It looks nice but it has some empty indie game feel to it.
I do not think its walking sym, but yes in the beginning you have to walk to pretty long distances through fog.
For sure feels outdated to bump into tons of doors that you can't open and find your way through the level that LOOKS open but is extremely restricted.
I will continue to play but judging by the beginning of the game it does feel massively overrated.
It feels like a game I already played. ITS A NOT GOOOOOOOOD WORTH $80
What made this game a masterpiece was the time it was released, retrospective reviews and it's influence on mass media today (Come on, I saw nurses at the recent major cons...) was the many themes, it's design and presentation that set it apart from games *of that time* that recent titles in the series have not yet been able to reproduce, and has LITERALLY influenced major title horror releases.
Did we also forget PT? Anyone? This is a slow burner type of game, think of it as a more interactive Heavy Rain but the choices aren't always always apparent. The whole game encourages you to explore, but again, this isn't some complex open world either - it's up to *you* to find your way as if YOU would because you're playing as an everyman. From there it's trial and error. No hand holding here!
