Worst PC Port since Jedi Survivor
Stutter, stutter, stutter...Apartments...stutter.

Refunded after nearly three hours of the early access Deluxe Edition. Can play Wukong and Alan Wake 2 at Very High/High @ 1440p with DLSS Quality + frame gen @ silky smooth 120-200, but this game will drop frames and show frametime spikes no matter what I do with the settings.

Turned off RT, lowered shadows to low, turned off SSR. Dropped preset to medium, Can get 140fps with no cap but stutter. Locked to 60fps, stutters causes repeatable drops to 58/56/52fps at times.

Tried every single fix suggested on here. Bad port.

Like every other magical fix I tried that was suggested on here over the weekend, I highly doubt it. Just a bad, stutterfest of a port.

I'll try the console version when it's cheap physically and had several updates.

looks like you didn't turn off hardware accelerator in the display settings on your PC. good chance that fixes your stutter. It did for me. Also did everything beside the FOV change. People give up so easily these days.

I turned off the hardware gpu scheduling, reset my PC and loaded up my test spot at Neely's Bar where I run outside, up the street and back inside the bar.

All the same traversal stutter and hitching in all the same spots. I also loaded second save in Wood Side Apartments, still stuttercity. Like I said, I tried every fix suggested on here over the weekend. Bad port.

open %appdata% local , silent hil 2 , saved , config , engine.ini down on last line and paste

[SystemSettings]
r.FidelityFX.FI.Enabled=1

* that will enable frame generation for double of fps

Well it has QTE's and QTE's need to be removed from modern gaming, quick time events are stupid and cheap moves.

I have never seen a game crash consistently like this with no solution, it’s so frustrating…..

wow glad I didn't go by the reviews saying "overwhelming positive" only to find out it's not true. Reading the threads looks like a serious issue. I will wait.

That's most likely Unreal Engine optimization issue. Hence, it requires multiple patch to improve general performance & stability.

UE5 games are all heavy indeed. But overall this game works fine for the most part unless ppl have 8GB VRAM or less. Since this game is not CS2-like shooter, it is not mandatory to run game with 120+ fps, even 40-60 fps range just fine.

The developers couldn't fix this traversal stutter in other games, and they won't fix it here either.

UE5 = stutter, poor performance, bad image quality (upscalers)
"Upscaling and fake frame Gen is a poor excuse to no optimize games."

I agree. Was happy to cap the game at 60fps, but that doesn't stop the repeatable traversal stutter even though I can play at 120+ @ the same settings without the cap.

Every time you go in and out a room in Wood Side Apartments, the game has traversal stutter. You're going in and out of rooms a lot in there as it's...an Apartment block.

Hey Buddy, when you have graphics problems, do be sure to leave what Graphics Driver version you're using, along with the Operating System you're using &/or Computer Specs.

This will help people sus out if there's any system level foul play.
