Disable inventory coloring?
Is there a way to disable the yellow/red overlay in the inventory when you're damaged? I saw a review mention it, but haven't been able to find the option myself. "Inventory effects" disables everything aside from the color.

Should be under "Display and Graphics" -> "Inventory Visual Effects".

I've been away from my computer. And, as I explicitly said in my post, that option does not disable the colors, just the other visual effects. The text still turns orange and red even with that option disabled.

And if I run out of healing items or don't want to waste a healing item for only losing 10% health?

If the answer is "no" that's fine. There's no need to be ♥♥♥♥♥ about it.

Healing is not always the option in Silent Hill 2.

Yeah it is. I completed my first playthrough with like 40 healing items remaining.

The answer is no. Heal James. You should always have enough healing items.

And for a certain ending, you have to spend most of the game bleeding out onto the floor.

Healing is not always the option in Silent Hill 2.

Not in this version of SH2.

Some people are worse at combat or finding items than you are. Or perhaps someone is doing a "no healing" run. Or etc. Other realities than your own exist. The answer to the question is "no" not "heal."
