Game is poorly optimized for PC - Wait for a patch (if it ever comes)

The ONLY negative is this game clearly was not tested on PC by the devs. The reviews on STEAM for this game while very positive, are filled with TONS of people like me crashing, stutters and low frames.

Longest (so far) i have been able to play without a crash is about 30-40 mins. Multiple freezes, crashes or game just closes out. Have the latest Nvidia driver, I have tried many different settings and has no effect on the crashing. DLSS On/Off , RT on/off, changed to lowest settings and still crashes. My PC specs exceed the recommended requirements.

Had to switch from high to low settings just to make it through the door to the courtyard in the APTs when you get the key and open it for the first time, crashed as i walked through the door 4 times in a row on high settings, switched to low and made it through, but got major stutters.

Don't buy it until you see reports of a patch. This has Jedi survivor vibes to it as in another poorly optimized game for PC vs. its console version

It's also worthy of note that UE5 has its own "in house" replacement for RT, lumen global illumination or somethin, so any ray tracing has to be worked on and implemented second-hand.

Hellblade 2 doesn't have ray tracing, and wasn't built with it in mind. My guess is ray tracing in its current form isn't playing nicely with UE5 development

Turning it off doesn't fix the stutters, but it does make it look significantly worse.

This is why I chose to wait, as this just sounds like typical bloober. Worried all the pre release reviews are mostly fan boys who will not tell the truth, see how things look in a few days review wise.

Going to be funny though if they have a "day 1" patch and people payed extra to play a buggy version early.

Game won't even start in DX12. I have to force DX11. In DX11 there is still a ton of traversal stutter.

Games not starting in DX12 on this hardware configuration is an old bug with an outdated copy of Unreal Engine 5.

They indeed phoned it in when porting this game to PC. 20 minutes patching Unreal Engine 5 would have their game better optimized by miles. Unfortunately it's an ongoing trend with console ports.

Process doesn't even load when I hit Play without forcing DX11.

Legit don't even get an crash dump or error, not even a process running in Task Manager.

I've tried rolling back my GPU driver with a clean installation. Manually clearing the entire shader cache. Verifying integrity. Reinstalling the game. Disabling Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling, running process direct from folder as Admin, Repairing C++, and lowering Performance Core Ratio from 56x to 52x.

Only games I've had this happen to in the past with this setup, what I could find troubleshooting was that it's an UE5 issue that has since been patched. In the past lowering Performance Core Ratio worked.

Yep, it's pretty awful. Like I can tell the game is phenomenal but the constant stutters are insanely distracting.

Kinda shocked so many people are giving it a pass, doesn't deserve a 96% rating at this point. Maybe some people just don't notice the performance issues.

It could be my PC i guess but i doubt it. Been running this rig for a few years and played games like MWll, cyberpunk, GTA etc and have never had a game crash to the extreme this game does with the exception of Jedi survivor and look at the reviews for PC on that game, i refunded my copy.

My crash report on the game is a UE5 error. trying to access memory in a location its not located at. Tried to play it again today and it crashed 20 mins into the game and have decided not to play it again until Nvidia comes out with a driver for it. Crashing makes it hard to get into the game.

This the trend these days and while the game gamep[ay may be great the problems may in getting it to run at optimum levels for some players may not be capable of doing so until the developer issues a patch to address the problem area and why I rather wait before buying and see how this goes.

I'm afraid you are correct. With such a let down on this games performance i doubt i will do an early access game purchase again. There is no way the DEVS can say they tested this game on a PC with a straight face. Pretty disappointing they chose to release it in its current form.

Not a single crash and stable fps all around. I've played until after you fight pyramid head. And it works 10/10. Stop coping and taking s#it about games if your hardware is old &/or bad.
