HDR on or off?

How do u guys play it? With HDR on or off? And if you use HDR what are your settings/calibrations for it?

HDR has nice realistic colours and is darker where it should be BUT with HDR off the game has imo a better atmosphere. The colours are more washed out but it makes it better somehow.

but short version, use HRD.. it is "good" (not great), but the art style doesn't lean on highlights- so nothing is going to jump out.

I have one and been doing some tweaking and I think this looks good. Monitor is set to HDR Peak 1000

max lum 1000
mid lum 11
min lum -8
HDR brightness 2.50

I turned off the HDR, can't see sht in dark rooms because of my monitor HDR is not that great lol

In the monitor settings in HDR mode how much brightness remains? 100% or do you lower it?

Because in my 400 nits monitor when I activate the HDR (vivid) mode the monitor brightness is at 100

i have the LG ultrawide monitor , so i have black stabilizer at 50, and brightness at 75, contrast at 62, gamma on mode 2, and im on Game 2 mode

I have an LG 400 nits monitor but when I activate the HDR mode I can't change anything in the settings, only the brightness... that's why I don't know how to set it, they say the range is 70/80%

the only way to set HDR is within the game, thanks to your values ​​the result is excellent

This game doesn't utilise HDR badly, but it's not amazing by any standard.

Dead Space, Allan Wake 2, Ori and the will of the wisps, Days Gone, Control - these are examples of how to do HDR well

Silent hill 2 has a washed out feel, which kinda matches the tone of the game so it's not too much of an issue, but it is by no means 'one of the best'

It's jsut down to personal preference. I don't think I've ever come across a game that looks better with HDR-off but if you prefer the slightly washed out version for whatever reason then just enjoy it.

Best HDR settings for Alienware AW3225QF?

I have only had good experience with HDR in 2 games - Alan Wake 2 and Back 4 Blood. I still don't quite understand how most of these options work though. My monitor has a peak of i think either 1250 or 1260 nits. Adjusting that brightness does nothing. Whats the difference between HDR brightness and the Luminance value?
