Yes, but don't you think that washed out colours suit this game more? I mean we are talking about Silent Hill. It's a bleak, dark town with no life and endless fog.
Making the game more colourful with HDR doesn't seem such a good idea to me. The contrasts look better between light and darkness but the colours are a bit brighter and vibrant.
washed out colors dont help, silent hill or not. the basic quality of the photography comes first. the hdr option is one of the few positive additions to this game
I didn't say the washed out colours "help" the game. It's just suits the game more.
It's like burial or wedding. You don't go there with a colourful suit or dress. You go there in a black or neutral colour.
It's the same thing with Silent Hill. If you look at movies like The Road or Eli's Book it's the same thing. It wouldn't give the same vibe and atmosphere.
Tweak it once you get to apartments or anywhere actually dark, I turned up my mid luminescence just a bit so that darkness was still dark but poorly lit rooms looked right.
