Am i missing something about PSN account?

maybe i misread or misunderstood.. thought needed a psn account to play this but im playing fine and never asked to log into a psn account.. Just hit play and the game plays

No, not missing anything, just people being wrong about it. It's a timed exclusive on the PS (believe it goes to XBox next year), it's not a Sony game they can force a PSN requirement upon.

Dunno if you need a PSN account or not to play this, but if you've ever logged into a PSN account on any game on your PC it's automatically linked for all future games.

No PSN account needed for the PC version. It should only be Sony's own games you need an account for, this is published by Konami.

Not required at all. I have never had a PSN account, and the requirements for where I live make it unlikely I ever will. It's an absolute bar to me playing games which force it.

A PSN is not required. Silent Hill 2 is not a 1st party Sony game. PSN is only for Sony owned games.
