Is it scary?
Sometimes when remades are made, developers try to target a wider audience by eg. making the game less scary. Is it the case with this remake? Do you feel afraid when walking around?

Does it matter if some people find it scary and some do not? Just play the game and you will see how scary it is FOR YOU alone.

Yes. Unlike the OG version, you have good reasons to be afraid as combat was cranked up a notch.

i cant speak for everyone but i think it is, the music does an excellent job of ramping up the atmosphere.

going through a door. someone whispering stuff in my ears, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my pants 10/10

(tho, fight tend to be less scary because of dodge mechanics, but they found some good idea to still scare you with them.)

Still seems disturbing like the original to me :)

Not sure about 'scary' but I've found it really tense and draining to play, in the good ways of sounds putting me on edge and the 'oh ♥♥♥♥ that noise is coming from where I need to go'. Huge fan of how they let the music do its thing too. It builds into the horror really, really well.

Yup that's how SH games are designed, RE games are more jump scares but these are skin crawling :D

Imo its more unsettling than scary, which was the same for the OG. I also play alot of horror games so I dont get scared that often lol.

If you're less horror desensitized than I can definitely see it scaring you. I think they honestly nailed the atmosphere.

This has nailed it, hasn't it? Was trying to think to the last time a game made me feel this uncomfortable - possibly Signalis? Which itself did huge homage to OG Silent HIll. Flipside to them is that it takes me a while to get through them cos I need to take breaks. Looking forward to a few more hours this evening.

Yeah, you said it better than I've planned to.
Let's just say that I am feeling the same "pressure" from the atmosphere as in original game.

Indeed, I am honestly pleasantly surprised how well this remake turned out. Probably going to be my game of the year.

Watch the movie to give you quick look. It's really scary the movie was.

Creepier in any case. The other “monster type” that come along are simply waiting for you, along with this persistent ambient sound that you are in “danger”, sometimes nothing happens at all. With the flashlight you see less where it is dark because the eyes get used to the light of the flashlight, which means you generally see less but with the flashlight off you don't see anything.

It is much more scary now, even the sounds are a lot creepier, I was freaked out just walking through the mud at the start because it sounded so squelchy
