Controller buttons layout not matching UI

Would like to say loving this remake, the issue i am putting in is the controller input buttons do not match what i was pressing on a Xbox controller, i have changed the icons too match but when prompted to do action in game it's saying press B but it's not that its the A button(UI saying press B), is this is a bug or something on my end that i haven't set the layout right ? Even pressing back in the menu its showing Press A to back out when i have to press B it seems like the layout is like a switch pro controller not for Xbox one.

Had the same issue using a pro controller, I don't really know what I did to fix it but I'll tell you everything I did

Switched to button layout type C (pro controller) in game
Disabled and enabled steam input
Deleted the controller layout and reapplied the default
Switched back to button layout type A (xbox) in game

For whatever reason it started working correctly with pro controller icons but in settings it shows it should be xbox icons

you are probably using a switch pro controller, or the game thinks its a switch controller. The buttons are reversed on those. If youa are using a 8bitDO controller or something like that, there should be a switch at the back of the controller for different "modes". Usually S is for switch, A for apple, D for android and X for xbox.

I'm using an Xbox One Elite controller, it's Type A for me

Your all stars in my book for the help hopefully I can find this once play again later today I shall try type A and see if it fixes it. Thank you if not shall just have to play on keyboard. No issues one that.
