Undecided between PS5 and my 3080 setup.
Hello everyone, as the title says, I’m unsure whether to get the SH2 Remake on PS5 or on my PC with a 3080. How is the optimization looking? Is it worth taking the risk on PC? Are there any specific issues? Thank you all in advance!

Ps5 version doesnt have stutters, But with 3080 you can play at 60fps instead of 30 with better image quality.
Go watch the digital foundry ps5 analysis, that will tell you all you need to know!

Thank you for the responses! The Digital Foundry videos made me realize that it’s decent but not incredible on console. I’m expecting better visual performance on PC, but I’m not sure how it is in terms of stuttering.

I'm playing on a ryzen 9 5900x plus rtx4080 resolution 1440p with dlls quality on all graphics settings on ultra. The game runs above 60fps, but there is unfortunately sometimes a slight stutter. The PC game looks much better than playstation 5 in terms of reflections on water and in the puddles of rain.

Just coming back to say that once I found the DLSS settings under supersampling it runs great. Stutters are manageable.

Dont buy this on PC yet, it runs like your great nan trying on a 20 mile marathon.
Just get it on PS5, it was built and designed for it.
Then get play on the PRO with fidelity mode at 60 if thats really important to you.

Thank you very much for the response! I have the same CPU, so maybe I can achieve good performance. As for the stutter, is it manageable, or does it make it impossible to play? I read that there’s a DLSS update that needs to be done manually to help the game; have you tried it?

I just refunded on Steam and bought it on PS5.

1. Full immersion with Controller Support
-Controller has static coming. Very nice.
-I love haptics and adaptive triggers
-Color health bar on controller

2. PS5 ran FF16 on quality @ 60fps on a 4K TV
3. Im playing it now, its running at 60fps

The stutter is completely manageable and not a big deal, in my opinion. If it wasn't a slow-paced single player game, it would be unforgivable - but it's Silent Hill 2, not a fighting game or some Souls-like.

But doesn't PC version support Dualsense with the same features?

With 3080 you will get much better performance and graphics than with PS5. Minor stutter is not a big deal, plus it will be fixed with patches. Or maybe it can be fixed by reducing graphics quality to PS5 level.
