A game journo confirmed this. The fight lasts 3m30s if you don't hit him. Damage speeds up the timer.

Just bonk him with a wooden plank to speed up the hidden timer

Fighting him is only necessary if you're aiming for a 10 star, meaning no time must be wasted so fire away

I apologise and this will be the only "spoiler" i will post, tbf Konami did made a video gameplay including Pyramid Head Fight i just added a bit of hidden mechanic.

I already know it it has hidden timer and avoid is key but didnt know how long timer was but its short encounter or it was in OG
