3D SPATIAL / RAY TRACED AUDIO PS5 & PC
is the pc version going to have the same 3d audio that the ps5 version has

Apparently ps5 has a dedicated asic or hardware for this type of audio processing
And not everyone on pc has a dedicated sound card

The "spatial" audio that Sony loves to tout on Playstation is just that it essentially has a slightly better audio processor than none at all. If you're using a halfway decent pair of USB headphones, congratulations, you have "spatial" audio now
I dont think the headphones are calculating the data
Its an output device generally

It was a joke. My main point is that the "tempest engine" spatial audio is just some postprocessing on the PS5 that sounds more impressive to hear people talk about

Probably not exactly the same, but I see no reason why it wouldn't have 3D audio. PS5's might be a bit more advanced though since they built specific hardware for it.

We won't know for sure until the game is out though.

Tempest Engine isn't just postprocessing, it's dedicated hardware for handling many more sound sources than they could previously on PS4, and more than the Xbox handles.

Does that result in a wildly different soundscape on consoles? Of course not. Does it result in PS5 having better spatial audio than Xbox? Of course. Does it mean this particular game will have better spatial audio on PS5 than it does on PC? Impossible to say until the game is out, but probably not.

At most I would think that all systems have spatial audio, but PS5 has more audio sources and/or is more accurate, especially if you use the built in tool to create a more accurate HRTF for your ears.

All systems have spatial audio. Stereo is - by definition, spatial. I do foley and audio tech as a hobby. Stereo has a definite soundstage. 5.1 and 7.1 have a wider, but some say "flatter" stage. I have a ps5 and I have played Returnal with the spatial audio. It's literally all smoke and mirrors. It's not some magic voodoo that makes it sound better.

So it has more audio sources
Is it bouncing around of walls like some demo was showing that the radeon audio stuff does yeaaaaaaars ago

My.above comment is what im talking about
Im not too sure if this is that now

Jesus christ these comments are doing mental gymnastics. This game'll probably have it, if it doesn't who cares. If it's really a problem for you just buy dolby atmos from the windows store and enjoy it there.
Cleetus McPickins 5 OCT 2024 a las 1:44
Dolby atmos and DTS X are probably just as good if not better.
