Apparently wearing leather jacked and short black dress is considered woke.
Not to mention they actually changed Maria's model (fixed her big head from earlier trailer) and added cleavage. They even changed Angela's face to be less "fat" as people claimed before and fixed her eyebrows.

I heard it is woke. Jack is non-binary and insists people use the proper pronouns, he doesn't walk, he minces like he's on a catwalk. If Jack gets too stressed out he retreats to his safe space for 30 minutes, as a white person he stops every 20 minutes and gets on his knees before a black person and apologizes for 400 years of slavery
So woke, that the land itself will transition from one type to another on a whim.
This game is so woke, that the MC, a sexually repressed and verbally abused beta male is expected to overcome a giant, muscular alpha male enemy who is so strong that he carries a heavy, metal rusted iron on his head while wielding a giant blade with ease and takes what he wants from the random women enemies. The MC can beat him with perseverance and a small lead pipe.
The game is so woke, the entire gameplay revolves around the MC trying to find his abusive wife, so he can apologize to her, while being harassed by a small child and an overweight male with mental issues.
If you are one of those "live and let live, but don't shove it in my face" type of sigmas, you should skip this one and just play the original.
The characters still look made "under a woke lens", or "with helped of woke consultants". But apart from that, hopefully devs didnt changed (much) key dialogues to change how james acts and represents his personality, as well as other characters (very likely they change them, but we still dont know how much).
the original issues with the model of maria, as you should be able to notice in the image you provided, wasnt only the aspect of the dress (which was made more "prudent", or "shy", than the original version), is that the model itself had the androgynous styles typical of "for modern audience" (ie bigger jaw, and male like feature mixed with toned down female ones).
As you also may notice, the negative feedback seems to helped a bit to bring back a more "feminine features", even when the dress is still incompatible with her original personality and style (she is supposed to be and look a lot more "extroverted", even "slutty", because is the fantasy version created by the desires of james).
Her facial expressions are also more shy, and ever fearful, which she wasnt, in the original version.
And thats only her: all characters have similar issues in how they look and the "modern way" in which devs portrayed them.
Why is sexualising the characters always woke peoples first defense/excuse for the game and why people are against ugly characters? You can think a woman is pretty without thinking anything sexual you know, you basically just outed yourself as a perv with that comment, as you clearly sexualize every female char you see with a comment like that. Seriously projecting much there Spicy Groggy?
I personally do not wanna see ugly characters in a videogame, if I wanted to see ugly people I would go outside and look at the people irl. It has nothing to do with sexualizing them, I can look at a pretty woman as a guy and not be sexual about it, most normal people are like this. People often play videogames to get away from real life crap. Its why there is so much pushback against woke topics etc, as we as gamers are sick of it being forced and inserted into videogames we play to get away from that annoying crap irl.
I honestly suspect this game to fail due to how it was wokified,like most other games that did thi sort of stuff. The modern audience does not exist, Concord, Dustborn, Suicide Squad, were all made to cater to the woke 1% or less, and they all failed, because they pissed off most of the 99% majority of non-woke normal gamers. You need that 99% majority to have a successful game and catering to that 1% just pushes normal gamers away, its basically diging your own grave when you do that. Gamers today vote with their wallets and they do not support this woke agenda stuidos try to push in games one bit.
Its a shame, because I was intersted in this game till I heard about all the changes its going to have that we know of. Now? I'll prob not even bother with it if it was free. All fans wanted was a version of the orignal game with everything intact but maybe just better graphics, no one asked for the uglification of the characters, making the game easier, making it less violent etc, no one asked for that, or wanted it.
It's among the top sellers right now so the modern audience is alive and well it seems. I'm not part of that audience I guess.
What are you talking about??? Your statement couldn't be more wrong. This game is an exploration of the darkness in human psychology and trauma. All people can relate, men and women. It's a story of mental illness and the game is driven by the manifestations of it. The ending of the game is proof of this when he finally acknowledges the truth behind his delusions.
Every character has rainbow colored hair. The tombstones in the cemetary where you meet Angelo (yeah he's a bisexual Latino dude now) are now all non-binary. Pyramid Head doesn't assault ennemies anymore but create games sponsored by Sweet Baby Inc. Maria is a genderfluid feminist with short dyed blue hair and a "I hate men" T-Shirt who will try to murder you whenever you say "hi" to her. And the worst thing is that Walter Sullivan is no more a serial killer but an asexual furry.
I'm deeply sadened to tell you all that, I know that you are part of the snowflake basement boys demography but playing this game will hurt deeply your small and fragile masculinity. You should actualy leave that to people who actualy have enough brain, maturity and an open mind. Only them are not whinning like spoiled toddlers because they see other genders, sexual orientations and skin colors in a video game.
